FEBRUARY 10, 2007 - HIKE TO JESSE'S HIGH TOP

On Saturday February 10th, the Swannanoa Valley Museum will sponsor a hike to the well-known but relatively inaccessible site known as Jesse's High Top. Led by Roger Hibbard, Director of YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly, the hike will be strenuous, and there will be some off-trail hiking. Hikers will meet in the parking lot of Black Mountain Savings Bank, 200 E. State Street in Black Mountain, at 9:30 a.m. Participants should wear sturdy hiking gear, bring lunch, drinks and snacks, and dress for cold weather hiking. Return is expected to be around 2:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for museum members, $15 for non-members, and memberships will be available at the beginning of the hike. Call the museum for reservations: 828-669-9566.
